Eco Friendly iPad Sleeve By Plain Doctrine
by Ivan on May.19, 2010, under iPad Sleeves
Plain Doctrine, a designer dedicated to make eco friendly accessories, just launched a new ipad sleeve. The material is water and stain-resistant high performance fabric made from recycled bottles, all sourced from USA.
The style is simple and elegant, while the price tagged at $79 is a bit steep at my own opinion. Definitely worth a look if you are a woman who is fever of reducing carbon footprint and enjoy simple lifestyle.

Hemp iPad Case Is Sexy Hot
by Ivan on Apr.10, 2010, under iPad Cases
Don’t care much for plastic and neoprene to dress up and protect your iPad? You’re not alone, many are seeking out eco friendly and sustainable cases for their Apple tablet device.
Case in point? The ColcaSac hemp iPad case which is becoming really popular according to the searches on this blog. And for good reason, as not only is it earth-friendly, it’s also quite lovely in design.
All ColcaSac protective sleeves are fashioned from a heavy-duty hemp canvas, lined with cream, 100% polyester sherpa fleece that provides protective padding for iPads and secures the user’s iPad with a durable, easily accessible velcro closure. Heavy-weight hemp boasts the longest and strongest natural fiber available today. (stronger than cotton)
The sweet earth friendly iPad case retails for $35.99 and is available online via ColcaSac and various other retailers.

iPad Wood Cases From Substrata Are Stunning
by Ivan on Apr.02, 2010, under iPad Cases, iPad Covers
Substrata, a wood manufacturing joint in Gresham, Oregon has a few sustainable wood iPad cases in the works.
The cases from Substrata are quite unique and feature eco friendly wood, as that is their specialty. They are developing two models, the iPad case and the iPad box. The difference between the two is a hinged lid (on the iPad box) which will fully cover and protect your Apple tablet. The combination of exotic WARM wood and tech is scrumptious, and these premium high quality cases are absolutely stunning.
Both cases are handcrafted in Oregon from sustainably harvested African wood, and Substrata mentions on their website, that they will donate a portion of profit to several restoration efforts in Africa. Giving back is what it’s all about.
But you will have to wait a bit to get your mitts on either one of these, as the wooden iPad cases won’t be available till June 2010.

iPaPer Pad, For When You’re Too Broke To Buy The iPad
by Ivan on Mar.14, 2010, under iPad News
Want the Apple iPad, but can’t quite afford the premium price of $499, then get the iPaPer Pad instead.
This hilarious new device, is not really a device, it’s a paper pad that resembles the look and size of the iPad tablet. Appropriately so, it’s dubbed the iPaperPad, and its GREEN too as it’s made with 100% recycled paper.
This would make an ideal gift for the broke Apple fan and it’s available online now. No pre-order needed. You get 3 pads per pack, with 25 sheets per pad.
Site description:
The iPaperPad is not magical or revolutionary. It’s a paper pad. This package contains three pads with 25 pages each. The pads are 7.47″ x 9.56″ and have a writable area of 5 3/4″ x 7 1/2″ on the face and provide the entire surface area on the back for additional notes. This three-pad pack was specifically designed so you could have one for yourself and share two with friends. The iPaperPad may be the same size as the Apple iPad but unlike the Apple iPad, these paper pads are 100% recyclable and compostable. They require no batteries, have virtually unlimited resolution, and their speed is controlled by you instead of a custom processor. The interface is so intuitive even a baby can use it! Be the envy of all your friends (except the ones you share the extra pads with) and buy an iPaperPad today! PLEASE NOTE: The iPaperPad is only fully functional with a writing instrument which must be purchased seperately. The iPaperPad is 100% compatible with any writing instrument designed for paper: pen, marker, crayon, etc
