5 Elegant Cases to Personalize your iPad 2
by Conan on May.06, 2011, under iPad Cases, iPad Covers
The iPad 2 is all about a good combination of aesthetics and functionality. But if you want to further augment the tablet’s value for day-to-day use, it wouldn’t hurt to buy a case or cover for personalization and adding a little bit of protection.
Check out these five iPad 2 cases:
iPad 2 Smart Cover
If you want to spend $70 for an official case for Apple’s 2nd generation tablet, then the iPad 2 Smart Cover is your only choice. As the company describes it, the case is the perfect do-it-all companion for the tablet. You can use it as a stand for comfort while playing games, surfing on the web, and watching movies. Smart Cover is also very slim since it only covers the screen, bypassing protection for the already durable aluminum back. It also comes with a magnetic component which it uses to attach itself to the iPad 2 and can also signal the tablet if it can go to sleep mode or wake up. The latter function eliminates pressing the lock button or other keys to lock the iPad 2 or resume the last session.
Bear Motion
Pro Ebiz has introduced the next generation of its Bear Motion case for the iPad 2. In the new version, the case also takes advantage of the tablet’s automatic sleep mode depending on whether the screen cover is closed or not. The case is designed to accommodate all the tablet features and therefore does not require its removal at all. Bear Motion is made of soft genuine leather and protects the tablet from scratches.
Targus Versavu
Computer accessories maker Targus designed a case specifically made for the iPad 2, called Versavu 360 Rotating Stand & Case. Its one-of-a-kind mechanism covers the tablet without hiding the Apple logo so people will know you’re cool enough to own an Apple product. Versavu supports three viewing positions, the lowest of which is optimized for typing on the touchscreen. Its interior securely holds the tablet while the exterior provides protection. Only adding a small fraction of the iPad 2’s total weight, this case is recommended for people who want to look professional.
Acase EZ-Carry Polyurethane Case
This Smart Cover alternative not only covers the screen, but also wraps the easily scratched aluminum back of the iPad 2. EZ-Carry allows positioning the tablet either horizontally or vertical and also prevents dust and scratch buildup, fingerprint smudges and cracks from small impacts. As its name suggests, the case is made of polyurethane, which is also the material used in the cheaper line of Smart Cover products. Obviously, leather fanatics will have to look elsewhere.
Kensington KeyFolio
Touchscreen newbies and physical keyboard loyalists will want the KeyFolio by Kensington. Just like all the aforementioned cases, protection from scratches and shocks are addressed as well as providing a hands-free stand functionality and delivering an aesthetic appeal. More importantly, the case has an accompanying physical keyboard that is operated wirelessly through Bluetooth. Its keys are resistant of spills and can also perform iPad specific functions. Even with the added external keyboard, the durable synthetic leather case is not particularly bulky.

by Ivan on Mar.14, 2010, under iPad News
Want the Apple iPad, but can’t quite afford the premium price of $499, then get the iPaPer Pad instead.
This hilarious new device, is not really a device, it’s a paper pad that resembles the look and size of the iPad tablet. Appropriately so, it’s dubbed the iPaperPad, and its GREEN too as it’s made with 100% recycled paper.
This would make an ideal gift for the broke Apple fan and it’s available online now. No pre-order needed. You get 3 pads per pack, with 25 sheets per pad.
Site description:
The iPaperPad is not magical or revolutionary. It’s a paper pad. This package contains three pads with 25 pages each. The pads are 7.47″ x 9.56″ and have a writable area of 5 3/4″ x 7 1/2″ on the face and provide the entire surface area on the back for additional notes. This three-pad pack was specifically designed so you could have one for yourself and share two with friends. The iPaperPad may be the same size as the Apple iPad but unlike the Apple iPad, these paper pads are 100% recyclable and compostable. They require no batteries, have virtually unlimited resolution, and their speed is controlled by you instead of a custom processor. The interface is so intuitive even a baby can use it! Be the envy of all your friends (except the ones you share the extra pads with) and buy an iPaperPad today! PLEASE NOTE: The iPaperPad is only fully functional with a writing instrument which must be purchased seperately. The iPaperPad is 100% compatible with any writing instrument designed for paper: pen, marker, crayon, etc
