iPad 2 Cases and Covers – Any Early Bird?

by on Mar.03, 2011, under iPad Cases, iPad Covers

Apple released iPad 2 yesterday. What a buzz it is!

However there are not too much cases and covers ready for iPad 2 yet. There are some models available in the market even before the release, but nothing is sure because nobody knows the secrets in Mr.Job’s brain.

The main difference between cases for iPad 1 and iPad 2 is the thickness. So it would be safe to say the soft cases for iPad 1 are still applicable to iPad 2.

We just picked 2 models from Amazon claiming they are iPad 2 compatible. Here they are:

Hard Candy Cases Bubble Sleeve Case for Apple iPad 2 (also fits Apple iPad 1), Black, Pink, and Yellow

You see there are not too much options available. You can also shop other soft cases if you are really in need of a case of your new iPad 2 right now. We will keep watching new releases of iPad 2 cases and report here.

Update Mar.3, 2011: Good news. ZAGGmate for iPAD 2 is available to pre-order now. Take a look here.

For the covers, though Apple had SmartCover inside the package. It is still worth to take a look at ZAGG’s Invisible Shield for iPad 2, nothing can compare ZAGG’s military grade quality on covers.

ZAGGmate – the perfect mate for your iPAd

by on Feb.01, 2011, under iPad accessories, iPad Cases

ZAGG mate

With so many accessories available for one’s iPad, one starts to wonder which would be
the best in terms of investment and utility. After going through the specifications of so
many of them available in the market both online and offline the iPad fan can discover
one cool gadget that would totally indulge his passion.

If this is what you are looking for have a look at ZAGGmate

You can choose from two models of ZAGGmate, one with a keyboard and one without it.
The former costs about $99 and the other $69. To the cool price you can add the speedy
delivery which takes no longer than 24h in US.

The package includes the ZAGGmate, a Micro USB charging cable, a guide to help start
off with it, and 4 rubber feet , which prove to be mighty handy.

The ZAGGmate is made of airplane aluminum and the body is anodized and bead
blasted to match the iPad finish. The accessory provides excellent drop protection as it is
provided with high density padding which is of military grade. You got to love the fact
that despite its tough and superior structure it is so light and thin. Even with the keyboard
it barely adds ¼” to the iPAd. The version without the keyboard adds only about 1/8 of
an inch.

This iPad accessory has a large base that lets me use it on uneven or soft surfaces like
the bed or lap. It has unique hinges that would have let you view and type on the iPad in
10 different angles both in landscape and portrait mode if you decide to go for the non
keyboard version.

The physical keyboard itself is Bluetooth enabled and has special keys for volume
control, music control, slideshow, search, home etc. The keyboard comes in really handy
when there is a lot of typing to do. It makes it easier and faster.

This cool gadget is something else because its stylish and sleek look that makes it so
much easier to handle the iPAd but in the meantime gives it plenty of protection. After
you will try it , you will surely ask yourself how did you handle your iPAd without
ZAGGmate.

ZAGGmate is available in ZAGG.

HandStand designed to keep your iPad in your hands

by on Jan.15, 2011, under iPad Covers

There are many accessories available in the market to use with your iPad some more useful than others. The HandStand is the new baby of Hub International and it sure hits the mark.

I must say I quite like it so I thought my not give an honest opinion about this cool find.

Unlike the numerous flimsy accessories available in the market the HandStand is sturdy and durable as it is made from silicone. The rotating disk is quite cool and a great way to flip your iPad from landscape to portrait which I find extremely handy.

When not in your hands it keeps the iPAd slightly inclined on the table and you can choose how you want it positioned while both your hands are free for whatever you may need them for.

The accessory is ergonomically designed, fits right into the hand and comes well equipped to keep your iPad from slipping from your hands. A thick ridge helps keep a good grip on the iPad and the practical design lets you hold your iPad with one hand while the other hand is free to work on its touchscreen.

The HandStand is tough and the semi flexible material used to make it, keeps the iPad safe tuckled in. The HandStand can easily standup to regular abuse and help you keep your iPAd safe too as it has been designed to keep the iPAd from slipping or falling from your hand while you work on it. I drop mine once and went to hell and back two seconds that took me to see it is safe so you can only imagine how much I love this new iPad gadget.

The HandStand has a unique indexing mechanism which makes sure that the iPAd can be rested at 36 different points making it virtually impossible to drop it or let it slip from your hand. It also comes with a Strap that keeps your iPAd firmly secured and yet it is easy to slip off when you need to.

This functional iPad accessory is currently available only online. Its designer Jamie Smith is a self confessed iPad addict who can has actually wired his home such that he can run it with the help of his two iPAds.

This product is also available at Amazon.

Plain Doctrine, a designer dedicated to make eco friendly accessories, just launched a new ipad sleeve. The material is water and stain-resistant high performance fabric made from recycled bottles, all sourced from USA.

The style is simple and elegant, while the price tagged at $79 is a bit steep at my own opinion. Definitely worth a look if you are a woman who is fever of reducing carbon footprint and enjoy simple lifestyle.

by on May.15, 2010, under iPad Skins

I was browsing around Amazon and found this rubber Hard Candy iPad skin getting rave reviews from customers.

rubber hard candy apple ipad skin

The rubber Hard Candy iPad Skin is not silicone, it’s a bit sturdier than that and according to customer reviews “it fits really well, with no slack at all” and “withstands minor accidental bumps and scratches” without a hitch. It’s made from 3 mm of shock-absorbing TPU rubber and has a nice texturized back which allows for a good grip on the iPad.

It also comes with a screen cover to protect the Apple tablet device when placed in a backpack, purse or bag and comes in two colors, including pink or clear.

Site description:

Combine 3 mm of shock-absorbing TPU rubber at the corners and edges with a case material that won’t stretch or surrender, and you’ve got truly rugged iPad protection. Add the convenience of an integrated screen cover that snaps onto the front or back of your iPad when not in use, and the Rubber Protect becomes the most reliable choice in functional iPad protection. It’s your rubberized, ruggedized companion for all adventures.
