ZAGG has become synonymous with very durable screen protectors for a number of gadgets but has of late begun coming up with innovative cases for the iPad as well. Take the case of the ZAGGfolio for the iPad 2 for example.

The ZAGGfolio, as its name suggests, is a multi-function folio case for the iPad 2 and boasts of a removable Bluetooth keyboard that doubles as a stand system for your tablet while keeping it well-protected from scratches, dirt and stains.

The external case of the ZAGGfolio is made from carbon fiber with a textured design while its insides are lined with a durable microfiber lining. It measures 247 x 193 x 23 mm and weighs in at 539 grams with the removable Bluetooth keyboard. In addition to that, the ZAGGfolio is designed with cutaways that give a user easy access to all the ports and buttons of the iPad 2.

The removable keyboard on the other hand was designed with the Apple Wireless Keyboard as its inspiration. It has the same chiclet-style keys for fast and accurate typing while the built-in stand lets you slide in your iPad 2 in either portrait or landscape orientation. The keyboard also includes keyboard shortcuts for music control, volume control, copy-paste, home and search for added functionality.

The ZAGGfolio Bluetooth keyboard by the way makes use of a 510 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery that provides so much juice that it can last several weeks of normal usage on a single charge. The removable keyboard also adds flexibility to the whole ZAGGfolio system wherein you can type with the keyboard in or out of the folio case. It also gives you the option to use the folio case as a stand-alone stand for your device.

Overall, the ZAGGfolio is a very useful folio case for the iPad 2. It combines a stylish design with a fully-functional Bluetooth keyboard that ups the functionality factor of the case while at the same time keeping your device well-protected. The price tag of $99.99 is a bit high, but it does worth every penny for the function and quality.

The only snag that I can think of is that Zagg could have launched the ZAGGfolio at an earlier date. Or better yet, the company could have launched it simultaneously with the ZAGGmate so prospective buyers have more options to choose from. Barring that, the ZAGGfolio in my opinion remains the best folio case for the iPad 2.
