iPad Wood Cases From Substrata Are Stunning
by Ivan under iPad Cases, iPad Covers
Substrata, a wood manufacturing joint in Gresham, Oregon has a few sustainable wood iPad cases in the works.
The cases from Substrata are quite unique and feature eco friendly wood, as that is their specialty. They are developing two models, the iPad case and the iPad box. The difference between the two is a hinged lid (on the iPad box) which will fully cover and protect your Apple tablet. The combination of exotic WARM wood and tech is scrumptious, and these premium high quality cases are absolutely stunning.
Both cases are handcrafted in Oregon from sustainably harvested African wood, and Substrata mentions on their website, that they will donate a portion of profit to several restoration efforts in Africa. Giving back is what it’s all about.
But you will have to wait a bit to get your mitts on either one of these, as the wooden iPad cases won’t be available till June 2010.

I ordered one of these cases exactly three months ago. At the time the website did not show any kind of backorder. Brendan is slow to respond to inquiries regarding orders and, most recently, promised that my case “should arrive in 2-3 days.” That was two weeks ago and he has neither shipped the case, returned my phone call, or returned either of my emails since that promise. I am currently working with PayPal and my bank to get my $185 back.
